Towns and Horford among active NBA leaders

Karl-Anthony Towns and Al Horford are among the active leaders of the NBA, whose 75th season begins Tuesday with a pair of games.

Towns, the starting center for the Minnesota Timberwolves, will begin his seventh season in 10th place among the players with the best average points per game with an average of 22.9.

The player, who lost his Dominican mother due to Covid-19, has scored 9,352 points in 408 regular series games, always with the team that selected him as the first pick in the 2015 talent draw.

Ahead of Towns are Kevin Durant (27.02 pp), LeBron James (27.00), James Harden (25.1), Damian Lillard (24.7), Stephen Curry (24.2), Anthony Davis (23.9), Russell Westbrook (23.2), Carmelo Anthony (23.0) and Devin Booker (23.0).

Horford, on his side, will enter his 15th. campaign – when he recovers from Covid-19 – he returned to the Boston Celtics for whom he played three seasons before dividing the last two between Philadelphia and Oklahoma City.

The forward and center appears in ninth place in both total rebounds (7,242) and defensive rebounds (5,415).

In the first row the best are Dwight Howard (14,271), DeAndre Jordan (9,878), LeBron James (9,751), Andre Drummond (8,839), LaMarcus Aldridge (8,478), Kevin Love (8,130), Paul Millsap (7,559), Carmelo Anthony (7,520), Horford and Russell Westbrook (6,961).
