The Municipal Theater Concha Espina de Torrelavega will host this Friday, starting at 8:30 p.m., the Handball Gala 2021, in which tribute will be paid to the Olympic medalists in Tokyo and the best players from last season will be awarded in the Iberdrola Guerreras League.
The gala will serve as a preview of the women’s and men’s Super Cups, which will also be held in Torrelavega, at the Vicente Trueba Pavilion, on Saturday, from 7:00 p.m. In them, Super Amara Bera Bera will face Handball Elche and Barça against Abanca Ademar León.
At the gala, eight Barça players who returned from Tokyo with the Olympic medal will receive a tribute by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation. It’s about the French Ludovic Fàbregas, Dika Mem, Timothey N’Guessa and Melvyn Richardson, who conquered the gold metal; and the spanish Gonzalo Pérez de Vargas, Ángel Fernández and Aleix Gómez, bronze winners.
Too Raúl Entrerríos, already retired from the courts, will receive his tribute as an Olympic medalist. As for the Iberdrola Guerreras League, the MVP and Best Goalkeeper of the past year, the goalkeeper Renata arrudaDespite leaving to play in Hungary, he will be part of the league’s ‘All-Star Team’ with his former coach Imanol Alvarez and ex-teammates Mariane Fernandes and Maitane Etxeberria, from Super Amara Bera Bera; Lysa Tchaptchet and María Flores, from Handball Elche; Silvia Arderius and Soledad López, from the Costa del Sol Malaga; Danila So Delgado, from Caja Rural Aula Valladolid; Aida Palicio, from Unicaja Banco Gijón; and Paulina Perez, that last year he was in the ranks of Atlético Guardés and that this year he plays for JDA Dijon in France.
Spanish women’s handball faces a key campaign, since in December, and for the first time in history, Spain will host an absolute category World Championship, and this milestone will be very present in the Handball Gala 2021, according to the Spanish federation.
