Torreense hosts open training, enhances community engagement at Manuel Marques.

Fans fraternized with the team

The stands at Manuel Marques buzzed with life. Around sixty Torreense fans, the heart of the "blue-and-maroon" faithful, turned up. They answered coach Vítor Martins’ call posted on the club’s social media. It was an open training session on Tuesday, a chance to connect.

At twenty-two minutes past five in the afternoon, the players walked onto the green field. Applause erupted from the crowd. The players acknowledged it right away. The training session carried on in this friendly, close atmosphere. At the very end, something special happened. The entire "blue-and-maroon family" gathered for a photo. The squad joined the younger fans. It was a perfect memory of their idols, a keepsake for years to come.

André Sabino, Torreense’s sporting director, sees this as vital work. He believes the club is working hard to connect with its community. He explained it simply: "It just makes sense for our fans to be with us every day. They should share our good times. Deep down, they are a big part of how the club grows." He added that the club only gets stronger with its members, the local people, and everyone’s support. This unity prepares them for future challenges.

Speaking to Record exclusively, the director had a clear message for all members and fans. He wants them to come in huge numbers to Manuel Marques this Saturday. The game against Académico de Viseu kicks off at 3:30 PM. He put it clearly: "We want to make our home a fortress. All of us together, united and pulling in the same direction, will make us stronger."

Key Players Getting Back

The Torreense squad got back to work after a day off. They had a historic 3-0 win away at Farense’s home ground, Estádio São Luís. The players who started that match, except goalkeeper Lucas Paes, did recovery exercises.

The practice game included sixteen players. Among them were three goalkeepers: Lucas Paes, who was a substitute in the last match, Unai Pérez, and Gustavo Ramalho. Aritz Muguruza, the Spanish center-back, trained separately. He is dealing with an injury. The club also shared an update on their medical report. Young Danish goalkeeper Silas Bjerre missed the afternoon session. He is also injured.
