Today there are many ecommerces that exist related to the world of electronics, especially the more specific sectors. Such is the case with books, movies, music and games. With Covid – 19 this business grew considerably. According to a report by Statistical, revenues from the technological consumer goods sector exceeded the figure of 4,300 million euros during the last quarter. The same thing happened with these sectors, which, exceeded 195.5 million euros in the last quarter of 2021.
Ranking of ecommerces of books, movies, music and games
Ecommerce DB has offered on its platform the billing data for the years 2020 and 2021, including a forecast for 2022, of companies that lead the top 10 ecommerce stores for books, movies, music and games. First, it stands amazonfollowed by The English Courtand finally finds Lidl.
Number 1: Amazon
The American giant is once again positioned as leader of the ranking. This time, in the top 10 e-commerce stores for books, movies, music and games. In 2020, it invoiced a total of 4,372 million dollars.
Number 2: The English Court
Worldwide distribution group, whose headquarters are located in Madrid (Spain). It ranks second on the list. It stands out for having products from these categories for sale. These sales are made mainly in Spain, while in other countries they only represent a small part of e-commerce sales, as is the case in the United States. For 2022, a turnover of 2,679 million dollars is expected, thus observing a growth of 17.3%.
Number 3: The Book House
The book house is an online sales store focused on a national level. Like El Corte Inglés, its sales are generated mainly in Spain, although also in other countries, but with a lower percentage. It stands out for the sale of books and eBooks.
Number 4: Game
Game compared to the companies mentioned above, its sales are focused, as its name suggests, on games. In 2021, it billed a total of 79 million dollars. By 2022 it is expected to reach 83 million.
Number 5: Fnac
Fnac, a company of French origin, is ranked number 5. It covers several categories such as “Electronics and Media”, “Toys, Hobby and DIY” as well as “Furniture and Appliances”.
Number 6: Pc Components
It is an online sales company focused on a national level. It stands out for its electronic products. In 2021 it billed 821 million dollars. For this year they expect to reach 1,016 million.
Number 7: Media Markt
German company dedicated, like Pc Components, to the sale of electronic products. Last year it billed a total of 544 million dollars, and they hope to get a total of 721 million by 2022.
Number 8: Carrefour
Multinational chain of French origin. It is positioned in the eighth position of the ranking. It stands out for the sale of its technological products, as well as books, music and movies. It also offers other categories such as “Food and Personal Care”, “Toys, Hobby and DIY” and “Electronics and Multimedia”.
Number 9: Agapea
Spanish company. It stands out for the sale of books. Its sales are focused on a national level, they come mainly from Spain, but also from other countries, but with a lower percentage, as is the case with Mexico.
Number 10: Lidl
In last place is Lidl, a German supermarket chain. It has a wide variety of categories, but it stands out for its “Food and Personal Care” section, as well as electronics.
