Tom Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl winner and quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has said he would be interested in receiving a portion of his salary in crypto currency.
Tom Brady interested in crypto
“I would like to get paid partly in crypto. Preferably in Bitcoin or Ethereum or Solana tokensBrady said in a podcast earlier this week.

“I think it’s amazing what’s happening in the world and how the world is getting more digital. If you look at how the world trades and with all these different digital media and how they affect currencies.”
This is not the first time Brady has entered the cryptocurrency industry. In June, he and his wife Gisele Bündchen took shares in FTX, a crypto exchange headed by Sam Bankman-Fried.
“It is an incredibly exciting time in the crypto world and Sam and the revolutionary FTX team continue to open my eyes to the endless possibilities”
It is therefore not surprising that Brady does want to be paid in Solana tokens. The CEO of FTX is associated with the project. Bankman-Fried recently said that the project has enormous potential:
“I think it’s a very cool product. Of the blockchains currently in existence, it may be the only one, or at least one of the few, built in such a way that it has a very plausible chance of eventually hosting massive applications.”
Crypto Is Growing In The NFL
Brady isn’t the only NFL player to get started with crypto in recent months. In December last year, Russell Okung of the Carolina Panthers began converting half of his NFL salary into Bitcoin.
Kansas City Chiefs player Sean Culkin announced in April of this year that he will be trading his NFL earnings for Bitcoin. In May, the New York Football Giants announced a partnership with crypto asset management firm Grayscale.
