Smart fridges just got a whole lot smarter. Samsung’s latest feature, Multi-voice recognition, lets different family members access their own personal info on the fridge’s screen. This is all thanks to Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant.
When you talk to the fridge, it figures out who’s speaking and shows your stuff. Want to check your schedule? It’s there. Want to look at your photos? They’re there too. The fridge can even send alerts to your phone if you can’t find it, even if it’s on silent mode.
How it works
The fridge recognizes your voice and matches it with your profile. This means you can use voice commands to get your own info, like your calendar and photos. You can even change the screen’s display mode automatically based on your phone’s settings.
You can wake up Bixby by tapping on its icon or using a voice command. There’s also a double-tap shortcut, but you need to set that up yourself.
Coming soon
These new features will be available on Samsung’s updated Bespoke AI fridge, which is coming out in 2025. The AI Family Hub will be the first to get this update, and it’ll roll out to other smart home devices with the AI Home Display later on.
Other companies, like Amazon and Google, already have similar voice recognition tech in their smart home devices. But Samsung’s putting its own spin on it with the smart fridge.
