Timothée Chalamet has become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actors since he won over critics with Call Me By Your Name. The actor, who recently released Dune, has revealed some of the advice he has received to sweep as a performer.
"One of my heroes – I can’t say who or would kick my butt – put his arm around me the first night we met and gave me some advice: No hard drugs or superhero movies"Chalamet told TIME magazine.
In a more serious tone, the artist revealed what he believed to be the true reasons for his success. "It is a combination of luck and having received good advice early in my career so as not to pigeonhole myself"he confessed.
The American also explained how fame lived. "I’m still trying to figure it out. On my worst days I feel tension. But on my best days I feel like I’m growing up at the right time", he assured.
In his interview he also gave some brushstrokes about Dune, which has not yet reached American theaters. "Dune was written 60 years ago, but its themes are very topical. It is a warning against the exploitation of the environment, a warning against colonialism, a warning against technology", He says.
Chalamet’s career took off thanks to Call Me By Your Name, which earned him an Oscar nomination. He had previously appeared on Interstellar alongside Matthew McConaughey and under Christopher Nolan. He will soon play a young Willy Wonka in the Paul King film Wonka. The French Chronicle, a film by Wes Anderson that hits Spanish cinemas on October 22, is pending release.
