The lucky owners of an NFT from the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BYAC) collection will soon have the opportunity to wear their precious possession in the form of a TIMEX watch on their wrist. TIMEX has partnered with the BYAC community to release 500 watches with the image of a Bored Ape or Mutant Ape on the dial.
No cheap watches
TIMEX watches will eventually sell for $2,500 each. Those interested can compose the watches as desired. For example, it is possible to choose your own case, strap and engravings for the watch.
Sales of TIMEX watch NFTs started today. You can buy them for about 2 ethereum (ETH) each, which equates to a price of around $2,500 to $2,600. In two weeks, the owners will have the chance to assemble the watches on the TIMEX website.
Don’t let your ape’s wrist go naked. Reserve yours now. Anyone can mint the pass and secure their right to one of the 500 creations, but only @BoredApeYC and MAYC holders will be able to create their set.

Each physical copy also comes with a digital equivalent in the form of an NFT. They don’t come in time for the holidays, by the way. TIMEX’s plan is to ship the watches to buyers in the second quarter of 2023. “TIMEX enters the world of Web3 with this,” said Shari Fabiani, the watch brand’s vice president of marketing.
Timekeeper of the Metaverse
Last month, TIMEX proclaimed itself the “timekeeper of the metaverse” with the unveiling of a collection in Fortnite. The partnership with the Bored Ape Yacht Club came about through Josh Ong and CryptoVonDoom, two members of the community.
“As part of the OG Bored Ape community, it’s dope to be collaborating with the OGs of the watch world,” said VonDoom in response to the announcement of the cooperation.
The presale of the watches took place at an invite-only event for the Ape community. The event in question took place during Art Basel in Miami on Friday.

The event represented the continued emergence of NFTs as brand names in the world of art and fashion. Some exclusive watches from TIMEX with Bored Apes were already on display at the event.
