Tim David IND vs. AUS: A special player made his T20 debut for Australia in the first match of the series against India. The Kangaroo team hastily named a Singapore-born Australian player as part of their squad for this series ahead of the T20 World Cup. The guests also benefited a lot from this. Being familiar with the conditions in India and having mainly played against Indian players in the IPL, David did not feel much pressure. He, along with goalkeeper Matthew Wade, led Australia to a four-wicket victory against India at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali. He is famous for his aggressive hitting in different T20 leagues around the world. Before the second match of the series in Nagpur, Tim David said on Thursday that the experience of playing in Indian conditions during the IPL helped him withstand the pressure in the first T20I.

IPL advantage of playing in

After making a name for himself in the worldwide cricket franchise, David was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2021, who was bought by Mumbai Indians in the 2022 mega auction for Rs 8.25 crore. However, after some initial failures, he was benched and sent to the second stage of the IPL, when he helped the team record some wins. These experiences of playing in the IPL kept Tim David calm in the Mohali T20.

Tim David said: “I certainly have the experience of playing in India before and I’ve played a lot of T20 cricket recently. I felt calm because I knew we were capable of chasing those runs. We had to get off the pitch. There was help too.”

The experience of playing with Wade in the Big Bash League was useful

Referring to the Big Bash League, he said that he and Matthew Wade are part of the same Hurricanes team in this Australian league, which made it easy for them to win against India.

Regarding his role in the Australian team, he said: “My job is to hit in the middle order, that is, I am not going to face too many deliveries. My responsibility is as a finisher, so I will play my natural shots.
