Tilak Verma
The Indian team is currently playing a five-match T20 series against Australia on home soil. In the first game of this series, the Indian team had won the game in a thrilling manner by two wickets with captain Suryakumar and Ishaan playing brilliant innings. However, the player who has been the most talked about after this game is Rinku Singh, who has impressed everyone with his ability to finish the game. Ahead of the second T20 match, Tilak Verma also commented on Rinku’s special talent and said that he is trying his best to learn the art from her.
Hopefully I can do that in the coming games too.
India has to play the second match of the T20 series against Australia at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Tilak Verma, who spoke to the press about the team’s preparations for this game, also spoke about Rinku Singh’s talent to finish the game. Tilak said in his statement that I am learning the art of finishing the match from Rinku because he does it continuously. I want to do that too and hope that I can do it in the coming games too. There is no pressure of expectation on me. I have a role and I have to play that role for the team. I have to play my role as number five and play long shots or rotate the shot depending on the situation. In the last match the legspinner was bowling from one end and I wanted to dominate him because then we needed 10 runs per over. Therefore, it was decided that I would take on the leg spinners while Suryakumar Yadav would take an aggressive approach against the fast bowlers.
My goal is to maintain my form
Tilak Verma failed to make a significant contribution with the bat in the first T20 match against Australia and returned to the pavilion having scored just 12 runs in 10 balls. Talking about his preparations before this series, Tilak, who was not part of the World Cup team, said that before this series started, I took part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and my performance there was better. I was confident in my performance so I didn’t work on any specific area, but rather my goal was to maintain my good form.
