TikTok is increasing the video limit to 5 minutes

Popular short video social network TikTok is working to extend the length limit of videos users can upload.

After an extension last year, The company is now testing a 5-minute video upload limit with a small group of users.

Currently, TikTok users can share videos of up to three minutes, limit that was established by the social network in December 2020.

This limit will now be increased again, this time to support videos of up to five minutes. The news was communicated by Matt Navarra, who shared in Twitter a screenshot of the new upload limit.

TikTok seems to be progressively increasing the video upload limit for users. Those selected to test the new limit receive a notification confirming that the platform already accepts the submission of videos of up to 5 minutes.

Curiously, some users were able to upload videos of up to 10 minutes, therefore, the company is probably testing what the optimal threshold is before enabling it for everyone.
