TikTok copies the functionality that has become common in social networks

Who does not remember the success of Snapchat. This social network is based on content that is available for a short period of time, usually 24 hours. Facebook tried to buy Snapchat and failed, copied the concept.

The stories became a hit on Instagram and came in similar formats on Facebook, LinkedIn, and even Twitter. Now it is TikTok’s turn to follow this path as well.

TikTok is the new social network to bet on Stories

As you can see in the image shared by consultant Matt Navarra, the name says it all: TikTok Stories. Like its competitors, TikTok is testing a content format that disappears after 24 hours.

The functionality is already being tested outside the US.

“We are currently experimenting with ways to give creators additional formats to bring their creative ideas to life for the TikTok community,” the TikTok spokesperson explained to Engadget.

As the TikTok source will have mentioned, this feature is being tested by a limited number of users outside of the United States. However, it remains to be seen if this new feature will reach all users.

Remember that Instagram recently copied the TikTok video format, with the section they called Reels. So it’s no wonder that TikTok also follows this path. In cases like Twitter, this format was a failure, as the social network had recently abandoned Fleets.
