Tigres del Licey celebrate inter-squad match

The National Champions, Tigres del Licey, held an inter-squad match this Saturday morning in preparation for the start of the 2023 Caribbean Series, with a large quota of reinforcement players from the teams eliminated from LIDOM.

Right-handed pitchers Jesús Liranzo, Keury Mella and Jonathan Aro participated in the match, as well as left-handed pitchers Raúl Valdés, Fernando Abad, Elniery García, Domingo Robles and César Cabral.

“We feel very satisfied with what we saw today, the objective was to keep the boys fit and prepared for what is to come, which is to represent our country in the Caribbean Series,” said manager José Offerman. The match included the coaching staff that will go to the international event, including Gilbert Gómez, quality control coach, José Umbría, who replaces Edgar Varela as hitting coach, who in turn traveled to the United States to fulfill personal commitments. Also, Erick Abreu, pitching coach Manny Aybar, assistant and Anderson Hernández, infield coach.

Before the game, the fans showed up on the esplanade of the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium to take pictures with the trophy obtained by the 23-time National Champions, as a sign of pride towards the blue team.

The Caribbean classic will be held from February 2 to 10 at the Estadio la Rinconada in Caracas and the Estadio Forum in La Guaira, Venezuela, where the Dominican Republic will face Mexico at 12 noon in its first match.
