Tigre defeated Rosario Central with a double from Mateo Retegui, the league’s top scorer

Tigre also took advantage of Rosario Central’s slump and won 3-1 this Monday night in Victoria at the close of date 12 of the Professional League. Thus, Diego Martínez’s team reached 16 points while Carlos Tevez’s team stayed at 14.

The great figure of the night was Mateo Retegui, the son of “Chapa”, former DT of Las Leonas and Los Leones, who just starred in a mini-controversy with Tevez when the former Boca took over the leadership of Rosario Central. Retegui scored a brace -2-1 at 30 minutes and 3-1 at 58- and continues on a streak in the League, where he leads the scoring charts with nine goals, two ahead of Adam Bareiro, from San Lawrence.

Tigre, with a 4-2-3-1 tactical drawing, was a fair winner, for having been more forceful and effective in the setting where matches are defined: the areas. The locals struck quickly and before the minute of play they were already in the lead thanks to Alexis Castro, advancing a new game of offensive efficiency by Matador, who had just tied 3-3 with Racing, 3-3 with Deportivo Madryn for the Cup. Argentina and beat Platense 3-0.

But Rosario Central responded quickly through Gino Infantino, who scored the temporary equalizer at 14 minutes. Of course, the bad moment of Arroyito’s team did not prevent a new setback after the elimination in the Argentine Cup against Quilmes and the defeat received at home against Central Córdoba, by 3 to 0. Since his arrival at the Rosario team, Tevez achieved three wins, two draws and four losses.

On the next date, Tigre will visit Defense and Justice on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. while Central will be the local Barracas that same day at the same time.
