Pedro Proença, President of the Portuguese Football Federation, congratulated Martins on his appointment, saying, “Tiago Martins is a true national and international reference in video arbitration, so this UEFA choice doesn’t surprise me. Interestingly, another Portuguese referee, João Pinheiro, has been named the fourth official for the men’s UEFA Champions League final between PSG and Inter.
