Three Dominicans arrested in Colombia with more than a thousand kilograms of cocaine

More than a ton of cocaine hydrochloride was seized by Colombian Navy units, arresting a suspicious vessel that was moving in the area bound for “a port in the Dominican Republic.”

This was reported by the Colombian Navy, which indicated that the arrest was made 60 nautical miles northeast of Punta Gallinas – La Guajira.

The information indicates that the Go Fast-type vessel was manned by three Dominicans, who were transporting 40 packages inside which a thousand rectangular packages were found, with characteristics similar to those used by drug trafficking organizations for the packaging of illicit substances.

The Colombian Marines drove the subjects, the boat and the packages to Cartagena – Bolívar, where the Homologated Preliminary Identification Test – PIPH was carried out on the substance contained in the packages, establishing that it was 1,006 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. In addition, a container with a pressed vegetable substance was found, which tested positive for 1.9 kilograms of marijuana.

The men and the material seized were made available to the Colombian authorities. The Navy did not release the names of the three detainees.
