Numerous WhatsApp users from several countries, are experiencing issues when using the mobile messaging application today, although the problems aren’t widespread. It’s worth noting that these incidents are causing frustration for many, and we’re seeing a significant number of reports coming in.
The Downdetector portal shows that thousands of users have reported incidents with the popular instant messaging application since 4:20 p.m. today. According to EFE, users have begun to communicate problems with the service in both the mobile application and its web version. This is quite unusual, and we’re seeing a lot of chatter about it online.
Spanish users, for instance, have reported around 22,000 incidents as of 4:54 p.m., which is a significant number. In Italy, that number is even higher, with around 48,000 reports, according to the same agency. However, the number of reports is lower in other countries, such as the USA, with just over 8,000 reports, France with approximately 7,500, and Colombia with 3,300. It’s interesting to see how these numbers vary by country, and we’re trying to understand what might be causing these discrepancies.
Current Situation
As of now, neither WhatsApp nor its owner, Meta, has commented on the situation. We’re waiting to hear from them to get a better understanding of what’s going on and when we can expect a resolution. In the meantime, users are taking to social media to share their experiences and frustrations with the service. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
