On Wednesday, August 11th, Samsung will present its new folding smartphones Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 at the Unpacked event.
Both folding devices bring significant improvements over their predecessors. For a while, it was thought that Samsung would also release its first scrollable smartphone in 2021. However, It seems likely that the Galaxy Z Slide or Galaxy Z Roll won’t be released until 2022.
Now Samsung Electronics has caught up a very detailed patent for your future smartphone with roll-up screen. The patent was applied for by Samsung on April 29, 2021.
Patent shows a sleek roll-up smartphone. In its most compact form, this is a normal device, with a rounded screen on the left. On the back, the right half of the smartphone also shows a portion of the screen.
If you need a larger screen surface, you can easily turn your phone into a tablet. Viewed from the front, the right side of the screen can be pulled out, increasing the screen surface by approximately 40-50%. The user interface automatically adapts according to device usage.
To get a better idea of the proprietary technology, graphic designer Technizo Concept created a series of 3D renderings for LetsGoDigital Based on Samsung Electronics patent images. The product renderings give a good impression of what this scrollable smartphone will look like.
