This user has turned the LG Wing’s secondary screen into a standalone phone

Over the last few years, we’ve seen some very attractive smartphone mods. One of the most recent was that of a user who installed a USB Type-C port on an iPhone.

Now someone has managed to dismantle last year’s famous LG Wing smartphone (with its curious T-shaped dual screen configuration) and turn your smaller subpanel into a standalone phone.

This mod was made by a creator of Bilibili Chinese streaming site, and the video shows a little bit of the modification process.

It turns out that the logic board and most of the phone’s internals, including the rear cameras and the pop-up selfie camera, fit nicely under the square screen. As for the battery, it’s apparently trapped between the inner parts of the phone and the screen itself, with a thicker frame tailored to accommodate the entire package.

This achievement is quite impressive, although it has no real use. In fact, we have doubts about the ease of use of this device, as it doesn’t appear to have a speaker or proximity sensor.
