In order to promote cricket in Kashmir, the Indian Army organized the Kashmir Women’s Cricket League on 19-27 August 2023. Such tournaments were organized to promote youth empowerment and citizenship. The tournament not only encouraged the girls’ sportsmanship, but also strengthened the connection between soldiers and citizens. Former Indian team captain Mithali Raj and Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha were the main guests in the final.

A total of 12 teams took part in the Kashmir Women’s Cricket League. From August 19th to 25th, the teams played knockout games in the league. The teams Anantnag Rebels and Budgam Strikers reached the final. The last game was close. Anantnag eventually prevailed over the opposing team and won the title.

The final was also watched by main guest Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Governor Manoj Sinha and former Indian team captain Mithali Raj. The winning team Anantnag Rebels and runners-up Budgam Strikers were presented with trophies and good cash prizes by the main guest.
