This star bowler will not be part of the India team in the Delhi Test, he will be in the Ranji final

Fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat has been released from the Indian squad ahead of the ongoing second Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia on Sunday. He will play for the Saurashtra team in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy final.

According to the press release from the Board of Cricket in India (BCCI), the All India Senior Selection Committee, in consultation with the Indian team management, decided to release Jaydev Unadkat. “The All India Senior Selection Committee, in consultation with the Indian team management, has decided to release Jaydev Unadkat from the Indian team for India’s second Test tour in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy,” said the Press release.

Also, Jaydev Unadkat will now join the Saurashtra side that qualified for the Ranji Trophy final against Bengal to be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata from 16 February. Report that the final match of Ranji Trophy 2022-23 will be played between Bengal and Saurashtra from February 16.

The 31-year-old fast bowler returned to Test cricket during India’s tour of Bangladesh last year and was selected in the squad for the first two Tests against Australia. The BCCI has not named any other player to replace Unadkat in the squad, which includes Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav in attack speed.

India beat Australia by one innings and 132 runs in the first Test in Nagpur to take a 1-0 lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Now, the second test of this four-match series will be played in Delhi from February 17.
