It’s official now: Samsung removed its Galaxy Note 8 from its update list.
This means that the computer has reached its expiration date, as it will no longer receive software and security updates.
After four years of updates, Galaxy Note 8 reaches the end of its life cycle
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 model will no longer receive software or security updates. All because the South Korean giant has now removed it from its team roster for future updates.
But device users have received frequent updates over the past four years, including a security patch for the Android operating system, last August. Apparently, this will have been the last update available for the Galaxy Note 8.
As for the operating system, the Galaxy Note 8 was limited to Android 9, since it was not part of the brand’s plans to give the terminal more updates to the operating system.
Samsung won’t release Note models in 2021
Remember that the Note 8 was launched in 2017 and that, at the time, it was one of the first models to receive a dual rear camera. It was also one of the devices that contributed the most to the success of the Note series.
However, the tech giant has already announced that it will not launch any new Note models during 2021. It justified the option with global chip shortages and potential conflicts with other existing products.
