Russia News: Famous Russian singer Alla Pugacheva has said that she wants her name on Russia’s list of “foreign agents” as her husband has been put on the list. Pugacheva has been a popular singer since the time of Soviet Russia. Pugacheva made this statement on Instagram on Sunday, which is being seen as a criticism of the Russian government by a big personality. In recent years, attempts have been made to suppress the voice of dissent in Russia, against which the singer has made statements.

Singer and TV presenter Maxim Galkin, husband of the famous Pugacheva, criticized Russia’s attack on Ukraine, for which she was labeled a “foreign agent” on Saturday. Russia’s Justice Ministry alleges that Galkin carried out political activities in the country on its behalf by taking money from Ukraine. Pugacheva described Galkin as a “true and loyal patriot”. The singer said that Galkin wanted an end to the series of “deaths of soldiers being sent (in war) to achieve illusory goals”.
According to the Russian law, organizations and people doing political activities by taking money from abroad are declared foreign agents. This leaves a stain on the person’s image and the government keeps a close watch on him. Pugacheva (73) is known for his soulful singing. She was very popular in the 1970s.
