Mohit Sharma with the Indian team

The new players are performing well in IPL 2023, and they are claiming to join Team India soon. But there are some players who have played for the India team but are now running out and are once again demanding a comeback. This time IPL has been really amazing. While young players like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rinku Singh are doing exceptionally well, Piyush Chawla, Amit Mishra and Mohit Sharma have played exceptionally well.

Mohit Sharma was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 50 lakh.

Gujarat Titans fast bowler Mohit Sharma has bowled exceptionally well in this year’s IPL. The interesting thing is that Mohit Sharma was not signed by any team in the IPL auction. He was the net shooter of Gujarat Titans in the year 2022. But when his name appeared in the IPL 2023 auction, the base price of him was just Rs 50 lakhs. In this, the Gujarat Titans continuously won the first bid. No other team thought it was right to bid for him. Little did anyone know at the time that this bowler would turn out to be a match winner for GT and he too would claim to win the Purple Cap at some point.

Purple Cap was earned playing for CSK captained by MS Dhoni

In 2014, Mohit Sharma took 23 wickets while playing for Chennai Super Kings under the captaincy of MS Dhoni and also captured the Purple Cap, although KKR, captained by Gautam Gambhir, captured the title that year. After this, he was cut from the team. Other than CSK, Mohit Sharma has played for Delhi Capitals, Kings 11 Punjab in IPL so far and now plays for Gujarat Titans. There is little chance of him winning the Purple Cap this time around, but he has become the third highest wicket taker this year.
