Like “Web3,” the “metaverse” is a broad term that encompasses a spectrum of things. In general, it refers to a new digital environment that builds on the current Internet, where consumers will interact with their digital world through virtual reality.
An important reason for the sudden resurgence of metaverse projects is the fact that there are suddenly many reports that Apple will enter the metaverse this year with the release of its own virtual reality and augmented reality headset. This could bring the metaverse to the mainstream in one fell swoop and is therefore very good news for crypto projects moving into the metaverse.
What exactly Apple’s headset will look like and whether it will really make the metaverse popular is of course still the question. But the fact that the largest tech companies in the world are really starting to take the metaverse seriously makes investors excited at the moment.
