In the standings they are followed by Real Sociedad with 38 points and Atlético with 31. In Europa League positions is Villarreal (31 points) after their victory in extremis against Girona and Betis, who lost to Espanyol, remains in Conference League zone. The Verdiblancos were on the verge of losing sixth place to Osasuna, who ended up drawing against Elche, bottom team. Valladolid and Cádiz complete the relegation places, from which Sevilla has left after their victory against the people of Cádiz.

Three VAR appearances so far on matchday 18 (Valencia-Almería is missing), although some more correction was missing. He entered the Sánchez Pizjuán twice: first, Lamela’s goal was canceled for offside by Óliver Torres, and in the second half, a penalty was awarded in favor of the locals due to a handball from Alejo. At minute 11, a Monchu goal was annulled due to a lack of Plano on Brais Méndez to originate the goal play. In minute 45, Kubo’s goal was also canceled due to a previous foul by Zubimendi on Óscar Plano. Then, at minute 83, Zubimendi’s goal was annulled by VAR due to Karrikaburu’s previous offside.
