The Ministry of Labor announced this Monday the dates corresponding to the holidays during the year 2023, thus complying with Law 139-97, which establishes the transfer of holidays.
In such virtue, the holidays will be applied in the following way: Sunday January 1, date of celebration of the New Year, is not changed.
On Friday January 6thDía de los Santos Reyes, works and changes for Monday, January 9.
Saturday January 21st, Day of Our Lady of Altagracia, it is not changed.
Thursday 26 of January, date on which the birth of Juan Pablo Duarte is commemorated, work is done and changed to Monday, January 30.
While on Monday February 27, National Independence Day is immovable, as is Friday, April 7, Good Friday, a religious holiday that commemorates the death of Jesus Christ.
Likewise, Monday, May 1, Labor Day, is not changed.
Thursday, June 8, the day on which the religious festival of Corpus Christi is celebrated, is not changed.
Similarly, on Wednesday August 16th, Day of the Restoration of the Republic, in accordance with Article 35 of the Constitution and Sentence No. 14 of 02/20/2008 of the Supreme Court of Justice, it is not changed.
On Sunday 24th SeptemberOur Lady of Mercy Day and Monday, November 6, Constitution Day, will be celebrated on their corresponding dates.
On Monday December 25th, Christmas day or birth of Jesus, it is not changed.
