Bollywood actress Rekha is known for her special image in the industry. It was not so easy for Rekha to break into Hindi cinema and she had to struggle a lot in the initial phase. In the early stages of Rekha’s career, an incident occurred with Rekha on the film sets, for which she was very scared. Rekha made her acting debut in 1966 with the Telugu film ‘Rangula Ratnam’. She played the role of a child artist in the film. Rekha was not interested in appearing in movies, but due to her family’s financial situation, she had to continue acting.
His father did not live with him and his mother was a Telugu actress. But when Rekha’s mother, Pushpavalli, stopped getting film work in her old age, the household’s financial situation deteriorated. In such a situation, 13-year-old Rekha was forced to work in films. In an interview, Rekha said: “When I was in class 9, my studies stopped. I didn’t even know for a long time how much debt my mother had… I used to refuse to go to movie sets and often , my brother used to hit me.”
In 1969, Rekha came to Mumbai with her mother to try her hand at Hindi movies. She here she signed the first film ‘Anjaana Safar’ whose hero was Biswajit. But there was a great controversy in the first filming itself with Rekha, who was coming to carve out a niche for herself in Hindi cinema. According to Rekha, she was not told about a kiss scene between her and Biswajit. As soon as the director pronounced the action, Biswajit kissed Rekha. Rekha was stunned. Her tears kept flowing because of this deception. But Rekha, 14, also feared that if she created a ruckus, her career might end before it began.
