Third National Minibasketball Congress will be held this Saturday

The Third National Mini-Basketball Congress will be held this Saturday starting at 9:00 in the morning, at the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center of the Volleyball Pavilion, at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, in this capital.

In the event, organized by the National Basketball Commission, an appendix entity of the Dominican Basketball Federation (FEDOMBAL), delegates from the 32 provinces of the country and special guests will participate.

The objective of the meeting is to reorganize the practice of mini-basketball at the national level and establish a work program for this year.

The activity will cover two fundamental aspects, a theoretical part on the philosophy of mini-basketball and a second part of group discussion by region to develop a national project for this discipline.

In the inaugural act of the conclave, the work of three outstanding promoters of mini-basketball in the country, pioneers of this discipline, Humberto Rodríguez, Rafael Duquela Morales and Antonio Cocco Quezada, will be recognized.

The National Basketball Commission is chaired by Professor Fernando Teruel and is made up of Mario Emilio Guerrero, secretary, and Guadalupe Ruiz, Belkis Aquino, José Esteban Borromé, Víctor Calzado and Oscar Paniagua, directors.

The inaugural act of the Congress is expected to be attended by Francisco Camacho, Minister of Sports; Rafael Uribe, president of FEDOMBAL; Diego Pesqueira, president of the National District Basketball Association; Esteban Pérez Polanco, director of the National Institute of Physical Education; Nelson Ramírez, director of the Dominican Olympic Committee, as well as other national sports personalities.
