They will never reduce palm oil production, the two countries insisted

Indonesia and Malaysia, the world’s largest producers of palm oil, agreed to form a joint strategy against the decision of the European Union.

In this regard, the foreign news agency Reports It has been reported that the leaders of Indonesia and Malaysia have agreed to work together against efforts to eliminate palm oil.

According to the report, this came after a meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim who were making their first foreign visit.

It should be noted that the European Union has decided that it will phase out palm oil-based biofuels by 2030 because it believes that deforestation poses serious risks to the environment.

The European Union maintains that deforestation and deforestation of crops such as palm oil lead to increased environmental pollution and, indirectly, climate change.

Eight memoranda of understanding on shipping, export-import financing, green energy and development of the battery industry were signed in the agreement between the heads of Indonesia and Malaysia.

The two leaders said that they hope that after this agreement, the investment and trade relations between the two countries will be strengthened.
