They will discuss current challenges and technological trends in economy and finance

Specialists from the public and private sectors will discuss the challenges posed by the international sociopolitical and financial situation and technological advances such as artificial intelligence and the metaverse, during the XVI International Congress on Finance and Auditing (CIFA) and the XXI Latin American Seminar of Accountants and Auditors (SELATCA).

The congresses, which are organized by the Association of Multiple Banks of the Dominican Republic (ABA) and BDO Business School, will take place at the Live Aqua Hotel, Uvero Alto, La Altagracia province, Dominican Republic, from 20 to 23 July of this year.

In a press release, the ABA and BDO Business School reported that they have renewed their alliance to hold these events, in the interest of promoting productive debate around sensitive and highly important issues for the economy in the Dominican Republic.

“The international and local situation calls us, as sectors and professionals, to take preventive measures in the face of the new challenges and perspectives that this could bring with it, to be aligned in terms of new trends in doing business and how to embrace technological changes. and operations that allow us to offer increasingly inclusive and efficient services”, affirmed the organizers.

Likewise, they detailed that, as part of the agenda of the CIFA and SELATCA congresses, the current financial situation will be analyzed, the challenges of the auditor in the face of new times, the transparent management of government accounting in the Dominican Republic, modalities of the banking business and cybersecurity.

In addition, issues of diversity, inclusion and sustainability; neobanks and their role in the democratization of financial services; artificial intelligence and its impact on the banking business model; advantages and opportunities of the Banking-Fintech alliance; the challenges and prospects of the stock market, among others.

The organizers pointed out that these topics will be addressed by more than twenty authorities and local and international speakers, who will bring together professionals linked to the financial sector, regulatory compliance, accounting, auditing and other areas.
