They set a new date for the launch of the Astra rocket with satellites from Florida

Ponen nueva fecha al lanzamiento de cohete de Astra con satélites desde Florida

Astra Space postponed, now until Monday, the first launch of one of its rockets from the base of Cape Canaveral (Florida), according to the Californian aerospace company.

The ELaNa 41 mission for NASA was going to take off on Saturday, but due to a technical problem it was postponed to Sunday and now to Monday, as reported on Twitter.

Details about tomorrow’s launch have yet to be released.

ELaNa 41 is Astra’s first mission to carry operational satellites, specifically four cubesats, included in NASA’s Educational Launch of Nanosatellites (ELaNa) initiative.

The small satellites were developed by three different universities and NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston and have different tasks, including testing technology that could make it easier to inspect satellites in space.

Astra has made four orbital launches to date, all of them test missions that took off from the Pacific Spaceport Complex in Alaska (USA).

The company managed to reach orbit on the most recent flight, which launched in November 2021.
