They seek to improve management quality in public purchases

The Price Stabilization Institute (INESPRE) and the Dominican Institute for Quality (INDOCAL) signed an inter-institutional collaboration agreement for the standardization of public procurement and contracting processes of the former, in order to prevent corruption and promote integrity and transparency in the use of state funds.

The objective of this agreement is to lay the foundations for the certification process of INESPRE, through INDOCAL, in the ISO 9001 standards on Management Systems, ISO 37001 on Anti-Bribery, and ISO 37301 on Regulatory Compliance, which will make it possible to make controls more efficient for prevent and timely detect errors and irregularities in the public procurement processes carried out by said institution.

The agreement is part of the Regulatory Compliance Program established by Decree 36-21 of President Luis Abinader, which seeks to strengthen State controls and procedures for the development of good practice standards in Public Administration.

Through this agreement, which will be valid for two years from the date of signature, INDOCAL undertakes to provide INESPRE with services in a timely manner for the acquisition of the standards applicable to the process and manage the certification requests.

For its part, INESPRE must acquire the standards from INDOCAL, request training for its personnel and carry out the implementation of the necessary management systems to obtain and maintain the certifications.
