The Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, reported that they recovered more than 70% of electrical circuits damaged by Hurricane Fiona in the eastern region of the country.
Almonte explained that in the provinces of San Pedro de MacorĂs, La Romana, El Seibo and Hato Mayor experience restoration of this service.
However, he commented that in the municipality of Higueythe replacement is a 30%explaining that the atmospheric phenomenon produced the greatest negative impact, in the province of La Altagracia.
Through a statement sent by the Ministry of Energy and Mines after being interviewed in the Government of the Morning, The official guaranteed that before this Friday that town will be recovered, since the authorities of the electricity sector are quartered in that regionto restore electrical service in record time.
“The work has been tremendous, with a displacement of resources, equipment and all kinds of personnel, because President Luis Abinader gave instructions to restore the electricity service in the affected provinces as soon as possible,”Almonte assured.
Supervise repair work
The owner made a tour of that demarcation on Tuesday in which he supervised the repair work of transmission and distribution networks affected in the area by Fiona.
The tour included verifying the conditions of the energy substations of 138 and 169 kilowatts located in HigĂ¼eand and the community of the other band respectively.
Minister Almonte was joined on his tour by the general manager of the Eastern Distribution Company (Edeeste), AndrĂ©s Julio Portes, and the administrator of the Dominican Electricity Transmission Company (Eted), MartĂn Robles, as well as the president of the EDE Unified Council, Manuel Lara.
