They have placed almost RD$700 MM for low-cost houses

The Central Bank reported that as of March 15, 2023, the eFinancial intermediation entities have placed financing for low-cost housing for a value of RD$689.7 millionas part of the resource release program approved by the Monetary Board in January 2023.

The amount authorized total is RD$21,424.0 million, disbursements beginning in February of the current year, says the entity in a statement.

Of the total resources disbursed, RD$540.7 million have been allocated to the acquisition of low-cost housingbenefiting 214 families, for an average value disbursed of RD$2.5 million per home.

Meanwhile, the remaining amount, of RD$149.0 million, corresponds to six interim loans for construction of low-cost housing.

Of the amount of resources disbursed, amounting to RD$689.7 million, a total of RD$347.1 million has been placed by savings and loan associationsRD$335.8 million for multiple banks and the remaining RD$6.8 million for savings and credit banks.

Dynamism
Low-cost housing is in great demand and in turn contributes to the dynamism of the private construction sector.
