They are looking for a plane that could have fallen into the sea in Florida with two people on board

Several rescue teams continue this Sunday to search for a single-engine plane that allegedly fell into the sea with two people on board in the Gulf of Mexico, near the city of Venice, on the west coast of Florida (USA), while a body lifeless was found in the water, local authorities reported.

On Twitter, the City of Venice, a city located in Sarasota County, reported that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) contacted the local Police this morning regarding a small plane that took off from the Venice Municipal Airport on Saturday night, but never reached its intended destination.

"After that time, recreational divers located a body in the water that may be associated with a plane."add the tweet.

Also, the authorities indicate that the device, a single-engine Piper PA-28, according to the FAA description, has not been located so far.

The Venice Police Department (VPD) said this afternoon that the accident possibly occurred about 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) west of the Venice pier.

The VDP has coordinated an investigation of the alleged accident with the FAA, Venice Airport, US Coast Guard, Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, and forces from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. (F.W.C.).

"There will be a lot of activity in the area as divers and marine assets coordinate our search efforts."said the Police.
