With the Galaxy S24 (Ultra), Samsung also introduced Galaxy AI, which brings a number of AI (artificial intelligence) features. So far, the functions are exclusively available on the S24 generation, but that will change soon.
Samsung has confirmed that its upcoming Update to One UI 6.1 (based on Android 14) too Galaxy AI is included and from end of March will be available on compatible devices. The update is rolling out gradually, which means it may take some time before it appears on your device.
Here are all the smartphones and tablets that will receive One UI 6.1 and therefore also Galaxy AI:

Galaxy S24: You need to know these 5 AI functions
- Generative editing – automatically fills parts of the background of a photo.
- Circle to Search – circle something on your screen to search for it on Google (text or images).
- Live translation – Real-time voice and text translation during a call in the phone app.
- Transcript Assistant – converts voice recordings into written transcriptions, which can then be summarized or translated.
- Chat assistant – adjusts the tone of your message or email to suit the conversation. Additionally, any text on the screen can be translated into one of 13 languages.
- Note Assistant – Create summaries, custom templates, and custom cover images for notes in Samsung Notes.
- Browsing Assistant – Summaries of online articles.
- Interpreter – Instant, split-screen translation between two languages, enabling conversations between participants who speak different languages.
- Instant slow mo – creates additional frames in an existing video to create a slow-motion version.
This means you don’t necessarily need to buy one of the three new models in the Galaxy S24 series if you want to use Galaxy AI in everyday life. So you can confidently choose a Galaxy S23, which is now available cheaper.
