These are Solana’s plans for next year

During Solana Breakpoint, an annual four-day conference of the Solana (SOL) ecosystem, some important announcements were made regarding the roadmap of the project.

Plan Solana

One of those announcements had to do with the Solana smartphone. In June this year you could read in the altcoin news that Solana Labs, the developers behind Solana, would launch their own smartphone. This smartphone, called Saga, is essentially an Android phone, but users will be able to install decentralized applications (dApps), including marketplaces for non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Saga will also include a Solana Software Development Kit (SDK), which will allow developers to easily develop applications for the phone. Finally, the security of private wallet keys an important role in the development of the new smartphone.

Pre-orders for Saga will begin in early 2023, but no official date has been announced yet. According to Solana’s mobile team, the smartphone is ‘made for the people’. Vibhu Norby, the CEO and founder of Solana Spaces, indicated that anyone will be able to open a Solana store.

A second announcement had to do with the Solana dApp store. This can be compared to an app store as you are used to, only then purely for dApps. Unlike a normal app store, however, this dApp store will end costs, revenues and fees. The company has confirmed with the interested participants that the entries will open in January 2023.

Solana and Google Cloud

Yesterday you could read that Solana has entered into a partnership with Google Cloud. As part of this collaboration, Google Cloud will run a ‘block producing validator’ on the Solana blockchain. Google Cloud also plans to bring the blockchain node engine to the Solana network. Developers will also receive help indexing Solana’s data and adding it to the BigQuery data warehouse. The final part of the partnership is a credit program that Google Cloud will make available to select startups in the Solana ecosystem, with up to $100,000 in Cloud Credits available to applicants.
