Pakistani high performance coach: The Pakistan team failed to perform well in the 2023 ODI World Cup. The team didn’t even manage to reach the semi-finals. After this, Babar Azam left the captaincy of all three formats. Shan Masood was appointed captain in his place in Test and Shaheen Afridi was appointed captain in T20. Mohammad Hafeez, on the other hand, took over the responsibility of director. Umar Gul was announced as the bowling coach, Saeed Ajmal as the spin bowling coach and Adam Hollioake as the batting coach. But now there is another change in Pakistan cricket and a former player has a huge responsibility.

This former player has taken responsibility

According to the report by ESPNcricinfo, Simon Helmot has been appointed as the high performance coach of the Pakistan team for the Australia series. However, he will not tour New Zealand with the Pakistan team. For this reason, former player Yasir Arafat has been appointed as the high performance coach for the five-match T20 series against New Zealand. He will fly directly to New Zealand.

Previous coaching experience

Yasser Arafat already has coaching experience in New Zealand and England. He has played 27 international matches including 13 T20 international matches. He was also part of the Pakistan team that won the T20 World Cup title in 2009. But then he was just playing a game. He has experience that can be useful for the Pakistan team.

There will be a five-match T20 series against New Zealand

The Pakistan team is currently on a tour of Australia. In the first Test against Australia, Pakistan suffered a defeat by 360 runs. Now the second test will be played from December 26th. The third test match will be played in Sydney from January 3rd. Pakistan’s bowlers and batsmen did not perform well in the first Test against Australia. The Pakistan team has already been announced for the T20 series against New Zealand. The T20I series against New Zealand begins on January 12 and the final will take place on January 21.
