There is a Varane case at Manchester United

Raphaël Varane has had enough. The former Real Madrid defender, who was relegated to the fourth central position at Manchester United, has decided to end his time at Old Trafford, according to British media reports. There is initial speculation about Varane’s preferences for his next destination, particularly the Saudi Pro League in Saudi Arabia and Serie A in Italy.

Varane’s departure seemed inevitable. With Lisandro Martínez out due to injury, the Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order. Victor Lindelöf, the much-maligned Harry Maguire and veteran Jonny Evans, who turns 36 in January, all got the nod ahead of him.

He doesn’t want to continue in this situation.

As the British tabloid “The Sun” reports, this situation would have been unthinkable just a few months ago. Varane was a regular when fit in his first two seasons at United, but this season he has completely lost the trust of Red Devils coach Erik ten Hag and has faced heavy criticism in England.

Former Manchester United legend Paul Scholes recently commented: “We saw Varane in the game against Galatasaray and he couldn’t get his foot through properly.” This loss of status hasn’t stopped other clubs from taking an interest in him. In the same week, Sky Sports Deutschland reported that Bayern Munich have Varane on their radar ahead of the next winter transfer market. However, according to information so far, Ten Hag is unwilling to let him leave until the summer, although it remains to be seen whether the Frenchman will push to leave Old Trafford.
