The Telugu film “Mithra Mandali” has been released on Amazon Prime Video in a significantly re-edited format. The streaming debut occurred starting November 6. This new version aims to offer audiences a fresh and more engaging cinematic experience.
The original theatrical release of “Mithra Mandali” was met with widespread disappointment. Released during the Diwali season, the film performed poorly at the box office.
Producer Bunny Vas had expressed high expectations for the movie. He had promoted it as a flagship production, confidently predicting it would achieve blockbuster status similar to “Jathi Ratnalu.”
Despite considerable publicity and anticipation, the film failed to connect with audiences. It ranked at the bottom of the season’s releases, proving to be a box office flop.
Following its theatrical underperformance, the filmmakers devised a new strategy for its digital release. They decided to comprehensively re-edit the movie, cutting out scenes that were deemed too long or uninteresting.
Lead actor Priyadarshi, who played a role in the re-editing process, humorously announced the new version on social media. He stated that audiences would now see a “brand new version.”
Priyadarshi further emphasized that this re-edited cut is “sharper and much funnier” than its original theatrical release.
