The withdrawal of Turkish troops from Afghanistan began and the first convoy reached Ankara.

The first contingent of Turkish troops arrived in Ankara from Kabul via Islamabad via cargo plane. Those returning home after completing their mission in Afghanistan were welcomed at Ankara Airport.

Turkish presidential spokesman says the withdrawal of Turkish troops will be completed in 36 hours. Turkey sent troops to Afghanistan in 2002 for international security cooperation.

Turkish Air Force personnel with 1,400 troops stationed in Afghanistan were also present. Turkish Air Force personnel continued to guard and manage Kabul Airport.

The Turkish army was in charge of the security of the airport which was ensuring the safe evacuation of the citizens. After completing the evacuation mission after the repatriation of the citizens, the Turkish forces are now being called back.

At Kabul International Airport, Turkish forces, along with other foreign forces, provided full support for the evacuation of civilians and set up a headquarters at the airport from where steps were taken for the repatriation of Turkish citizens.

A few days ago, the Turkish Foreign Minister denied the news of the withdrawal of his troops, but now the Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the Turkish forces are leaving Kabul Airport.
