Crystal Palace standout defender Marc Guehi has made it clear he will not consider a move to Manchester United during the January transfer window. Despite rumors linking the 23-year-old with the northern club, Guehi would prefer to stay at Palace, where he has established himself as a key player since his arrival in July 2021.
Guehi, who arrived at Selhurst Park after a loan spell at Swansea, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the Premier League. With 85 starts and three goals in less than two and a half seasons, the England international has caught the attention of bigger clubs.
The Red Devil team needs to look for new options
Although there has been speculation about interest from Chelsea, his former club and currently Manchester United, the 90 Minutes report shows that Guehi is unwilling to consider a move before the end of the current season. The central defender would prefer to stay at Palace and increase his chances of being called up to the England team for Euro 2024.
Although Guehi is open to a possible return to Chelsea in the future, the competition in the blue team’s defensive line poses challenges for him. Meanwhile, Manchester United, who have had defensive difficulties this season, saw a possible solution in Guehi.
Although United are expected to need to strengthen their defence, Guehi appears committed to Palace, where he will continue his development and gain Premier League experience. The possibility of a future offer from Chelsea is not ruled out, but for now the English defender remains focused on his presence at Crystal Palace. The London club are aware of Guehi’s value and could demand more than £50m if there is interest in the next transfer market.
