This afternoon in Antequera the Guerreras (20:45, Teledeporte) debut their third coach since they assumed the name with Jorge Dueñas, relieved by Carlos Viver in 2017 after the Rio Games, and now the era of José Ignacio Prades begins with a week with two official clashes (today, Slovakia; and on Sunday Portugal) qualifying for the European 2022, but at the same time preparing the group for the World Cup organized by Spain in December.
“We cannot lose the perspective of the World Cup that we organize in less than two months, and at the same time the importance of getting two good results and leaving a good taste in our mouths with our game”, declares the new coach, who was already in Carlos Viver’s group, and perhaps that is why he maintains the block of recent years with his personal nuances and a commitment to the future: Lysa Tchaptchet is called to be the pivot that dominates in Europe, and that explains her call-up even though she is still a developing player.
Paula Valdivia. The right winger Paula Valdivia was the last to enter the group to make up for Carmen Martín’s injury loss, thus changing that position completely with respect to the Games.
The first two of a group of four teams qualify (the fourth is Hungary); hence the importance of adding four points now.
