The Volta a Catalunya confirms the seven invited teams

The Volta a Catalunya has confirmed this Friday the names of the seven teams that will participate in this UCI World Tour category race from March 21 to 27 with the elite of professional cycling.

In addition to the confirmed presence of the 18 teams that make up the UCI World Tour, seven teams that compete in the UCI ProTeam category will be added: the Spanish Burgos-BH, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, Kern Pharma and Euskaltel-Euskadi; the Russian Gazprom-Rusvelo of Ilnur Zakarin, the French Arkéa-Samsic of Nairo Quintana and the Norwegian UNO-X ProCycling Team. In this way, a total of 25 squads will be represented in the emblematic Catalan round.

Alpecin-Fenix ​​will not be in the Catalan round. The Belgian team had a guaranteed invitation to the race having finished first in the UCI ProTeam ranking in 2021 (which guarantees him a place in all the UCI World Tour races) but, after reaching an agreement with the organizers, he decided to give up his place.
