The Venezuelan musician thanked World Youth Day for taking part in the world event

Caracas.- The young pianist and singer from Lara, Alvaro Niño Cantando, took part in World Youth Day (WYD) and expressed his gratitude for the experience gained at this event.

“We are here to continue this love of Jesus Christ through the arts, all together as the Catholic family that we are, and we will meet tomorrow (Thursday) with the Pope at the welcome ceremony,” he said from the Portuguese capital.

He explained that he is part of a group of more than 40 people from around 20 countries who aim to represent all young people with artistic talent in the world. Niño is part of the ensemble responsible for the animation of all the central events of His Holiness: “We are two Venezuelans, a girl from Maracaibo and I.”

“I saw some of the groups from Venezuela and that makes me happy, I arrived early, I’ve been here in Lisbon for two months (…) I’m very happy to see how this day is going and how the ‘Up this walk and this pilgrimage, young people meet the Lord every time,” he explained.
