The US still does not know who is responsible for cases of “Havana syndrome”

The United States Government acknowledged this Thursday that it still does not know "Who is responsible" of the call "Havana syndrome", as the strange attacks against US diplomats in various countries around the world are known, after learning of new cases in Switzerland and France.

The "Havana syndrome" it causes symptoms similar to those of brain damage, dizziness, headaches, and lack of ability to concentrate.

"To date, we do not know exactly what has happened and we do not know exactly who is responsible", said Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, in an interview with the television network MSNBC.

Blinken’s statements coincide with reports of new cases, advanced first by the Wall Street Journal, in the US diplomatic missions in Geneva (Switzerland) and Paris.

Blinken remarked that the US Administration is working "relentlessly to get to the bottom of what happened" Y "to protect" employees and diplomats on missions abroad.

In addition to Cuba, where the first cases were detected in 2016 and 2017, there have been similar incidents in China, Austria, Germany, Colombia and even Washington.

More than 200 American diplomats and family members stationed in different countries have suffered symptoms of the so-called "Havana syndrome".

In October 2021, US President Joe Biden signed legislation dubbed the "Havana Law", which states that the US Government has an obligation to help those who have suffered these mysterious "attacks".

The victims have been asking the US government for more help for years, first that of Donald Trump (2017-2021) and then that of Biden himself.

The origin of these mysterious "attacks" It is still unknown, although some experts suggest that radio frequency energy could have been used.

In 2017, Trump accused the Government of Cuba of being responsible for what the US authorities then described as "acoustic attacks" or "sonic", which served as a pretext for the then president to put an end to the diplomatic thaw with the island.

An internal government report released in early 2021 revealed that Trump accused Havana without evidence.
