The US says it will work with “any” government that is formed in Italy

The United States refused on Monday to comment on the victory of the far-right Giorgia Meloni in the Italian elections and limited himself to saying that he is prepared to work with "any" Government to be formed in the European country.

"We are ready and eager to work with any Italian government that emerges from the elections to advance the multiple objectives and interests that we share."State Department spokesman Ned Price told a news conference.

The coalition formed by the Brothers of Italy (FdI), Liga and Forza Italia (FI) won Sunday’s elections in Italy with 44.1% of the vote, and the one in charge of forming the government will be the far-right Giorgia Meloni.
