The US is providing its latest military aid package to Ukraine this year: what does it include?

Caracas.- US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Wednesday that Washington would provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth up to $250 million.

The senior official stated that this was the last package of weapons and equipment allocated to Kiev this year.

The new shipment includes “additional air defense capabilities, artillery ammunition, anti-tank weapons and other equipment” designed to give Ukraine advantages on the battlefield, a Pentagon statement said.

Specifically, military aid to Kyiv includes:

• Additional ammunition for the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS).

• Stinger anti-aircraft missiles.

• Components of the air defense system.

• Additional ammunition for highly mobile artillery rocket systems (HIMARS).

• 155mm and 105mm artillery shells.

• Wire-guided, optically tracked, tube-launched (TOW) missiles.

• Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems.

• More than 15 million rounds of small arms ammunition.

• Explosive ammunition to clear obstacles.

• Spare parts, medical, maintenance and other auxiliary equipment.

“Security assistance to Ukraine is a wise investment in our national security. “It deters potential aggression elsewhere in the world while strengthening our defense industrial base and creating high-skilled jobs for the American people,” the Pentagon said.

According to the organization, “American leadership is critical to sustaining the coalition efforts of the approximately 50 allies and partners currently supporting Ukraine.”
