The United States authorizes Cuba to take baseball players who play in MLB to the World Baseball Classic

Finally Cuba will be able to bring baseball players who are playing in the Major League Baseball to the World Classic and defend the colors of the Caribbean island.

“We have received a communication from the organizers of the Clásico announcing that the license requested by them was granted so that the Cuba team can register Cuban athletes on its rosterbe of MLB or not, that they have residence in the United States”, as reported by the Cuban Baseball Federation (FCB).

Juan Reinaldo Perez Pardopresident of the FCB, recognized that the deliberation of the permit is “a positive step” and added that “it was the only fair solution to the issue.”

Some would have already confirmed their participation with Cuba

So far the Major League Baseball Players who would have already confirmed their presence in the Cuban ninth are Andy Ibanez of the Detroit Tigers Y joan lopez of the New York Mets.

He further noted that Cuba: “Not only is he the founder of these contests, but he also earned his inclusion by qualifying like the rest of the 19 teams that will participate in the V Clásico”.

You have to remember that the V Baseball Classic will be held from March 8 to 21, 2023 in the cities of Taichung in Taiwan, Tokyo, Phoenix and Miami in USA.
